He brought in a range of nocturnal animals for the children to hold and watch. They had the chance to see a Crackerjack, the owl, a snake, a mouse a stick insect, a snail, a toad and a Blue Tongued Lizard from Australia. The children were so well behaved and caring towards the animals.

We are very happy to see our parents engaging with the Academy. We have had some interested in joining the PTA, been visted by Jonathan form Adult Learning, Kelly has given updates of the new government rules about attendance and our new SENDCo (Mrs Sillett) introduced herself. This sparked lots of good conversations about SEND and neurodiversity. Because of this interest, we have organised some sessions with Adult Learning on neurodiversity. Letters have been sent out but if you need another, please contact the office.

We have the school nurse and our local PCSO's joining us in the next few weeks too. If there are any subjects or local agencies that you would like to invite to our coffee mornings, please let Louise know.

Our Academy wouldn't be like it is without our parents. We appreciate parents views and comments. Thank you for your ongoing support.

They tried lots of fun and exciting new activities which most of them had never experienced before. Everyone challenged themselves to have a go at everything. Even when they were feeling scared or nervous, they tried their best and encouraged one another. They learnt a lot about themselves and what they can achieve. The adults were extremely proud of everyone. We are sure everyone will remember the week for a long time to come!

Made in Corby are working with Corby Borough Council to make this year’s bonfire night celebrations even more spectacular than usual.

They’ll be animating the paths and roads around the boating lake with a range of extraordinary performances and installations. Keep an eye out for an announcement of which artists will be joining and where to find them!

 Due to staff shortages we will be closing the academy effective at the end of today, Thursday 19th March, until further notice.

Greenwood Academies Trust is monitoring daily updates and advice from the UK Government in regards to Coronavirus. We are keeping our Principals updated with the Government’s latest recommended measures to keep pupils and staff safe. Although the risk to individuals remains low, and we have not had any issues within our Academies, as always the active involvement of the whole Academy community in maintaining good hygiene practices will be vital in minimising the chances of any viruses spreading.

Fantastically, we finished third in both the Year 3/4 competition as well as the Year 5/6 comp. Well done everyone. A great achievement.

Our Year 3/4 team even qualified for the County Development Gymanstics Championships at Matrix on the 25th of February.
